The newest edition of the Greenlines newsletter is now published on the WGEA website!

11.08.2025

The August 2025 edition of the Greenlines has just been published on the WGEA website.

As this edition is the last one published during SAI Finland’s chairmanship of the WGEA, the sections from the Chair and the Secretariat reflect on SAI Finland’s six-year leadership of the WGEA, highlighting tools that support and enhance audit work, such as the Audit Database and best practice sharing. The Secretariat also shares highlights from a busy year, including the 23rd INTOSAI WGEA Assembly in Malta, the launch of the Environmental Audit Clinics, and the development of new audit guidance in collaboration with global partners.

The edition also includes a feature story by Davi R. Munhoz exploring the governance of microplastic contamination, its impact on planetary boundaries, and how environmental auditing could support SDG-aligned policymaking.

In regional news, you can read about exchanges and training by the ASOSAI WGEA, focusing on, for example, desertification, biodiversity, and climate adaptation audits.

You can also browse the newsletter for news briefs from the SAIs of Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, India, Kuwait, Latvia, New Zealand, and the United States on their impactful audits ranging from climate governance and forest restoration to textile waste and water security.
